Another Successful Swing Trade

ATML-2.jpg

This was another trade that I had recently with a similar setup to my ACAT trade. Many of the technical factors were in line and my nightly screens brought this one up. ATML had a pretty strong decline since the beginning of the year and I found a period where it had lost that downward momentum. The RSI indicated it was very oversold as well as the STO. I watched this a few days and found a stronger white candle than the previous days with higher volume as well. I took and entry the following day at open at 3.06.

A good trade gone bad...why to take profit and set stop loss

I figure since it's here I might as well post to it. I made my first trade ever June 1st 2007, with literally no previous trading or investing experience but a very strong interest in investments. I convinced my father that AAPL was a buy at 115 and I was going to do the same. So he invested relatively a good amount of money in AAPL at 115. Then I found margin and began to day trade his account. This was a disaster. I basically saw buys in #AT and would dump 10k on it, soon to realize I should have been exiting shortly as well, but I didnt really understand this at the time.

A Recent Swing Setup I Played

So Ive been focusing on swing trades lately and thought I would share a recent one, Ill post a few others soon.

Basically I saw ACAT consolidating with a overhead gap that it might have attempted to fill.
I found a Bullish 3 Inside Up Candlestick Pattern followed by a small break out on higher volume than the previous day. I took an entry the next day at open and exited the position fairly close to its top. I guessed it would ride up to the gap and hit resistance there. It has since consolidated at that level and is now turning downwards. It was a good profitable trade.
